Your Christmas Dinner sounds a damned sight better than whatever remnants from the hospital kitchen will be left over for the staff oh well it could be a lot worse.
"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more." ~Dr. Seuss

Hello Jessica,
just viewed your Christmas message! And a very merry Christmas to you too!
You look great with your hair deco and Ella all decked out, so pretty.
Now I am wondering what's in that big pile of presents!
I have and always will love giving presents and receiving them!
When I was a kid, my mother would accumulate presents for me in a back room. I was a sticky nose and did sneak in to look at them.
Which did NOT diminish my delight on receiving them on Christmas Eve!
I always loved the burning candles and angle hair on the tree.
The worst part was, that we had to pray a whole rosary before I could look at my presents.
That half hour surely was the longest ever, me stealing furtive glances toward the divan where the presents lay!
No conviction in my heart to pray!!!!!

Your Christmas dinner sounds scrumptious.
The noises in the background creaking and the howling wind bear testimonial to your bouncy conditions out there!

Thank you Blogmaster Andrew for posting the video!

Again, dear Jessica heartfelt good Christmaswishes to you, your parents, siblings and your whole incredible shore team.
Thanks for letting us all be part of this history making journey.

Thank you Captain Jesse, for the kindest of the Christmas messages. Lovely video, pretty decorated cabin, and you're as cute as ever.

Let's all blow away this mist and fog so you can see... that there is nothing to be seen around, but water. But it would be more pleasant to be able to raise your eyes to a sky, even a grey and cloudy one, and maybe to watch some birds. Some sunshine would be welcome too, but the region where you are is not the best for it... Next year, maybe you should spend Christmas in some warmer and dryer place like... like... arrr yes, I heard of a Sunshine Coast. Did you ever go there? lol

Be patient, you're a champ.
Come on, sailor! Your yacht is progressing, even in this cottony air!
Please take care of your skippershe is much beloved.

Hi Jessica,
Merry Christmas, my little angel. You look so adorable sitting there surrounded by all your Christmas presents and a pretty green band in your hair. But all that was nothing compared to the smile on your face. I too am celebrating Christmas by myself (by choice), but after listening to you, (I just watched your video) I really got into a festive mood and now I feel grrrrreat. Can't beat that now canya????? LOL.......

The cabin looks terrific, you did a nice job decorating it. Did them scallywags help? You can always make them walk the plank. LOL.....
You know Jessica, what made me feel so good was seeing that you were in such an upbeat mood, I was really tickled to see that. I watched your video three (3) times and now I'm going back and watch it some more.
Take good care of yourself and don’t let them guys beat you out of any of that chocolate mousse. I’m glad you got some kind of a white Christmas, but I hope it blows away real soon.
I just got some nice pics from Abby, and her boat, “Wild Eyes” has a new paint job and really looks good. She’s getting there.
Hope the wind picks up for you and you can continue on safely.
Always proud of you and always thinking of you.
May God be with you and watch over you and may the angels keep your sails full, and I will keep you in my prayers. Loads of love, hugs and kisses, your faithful fan:
Michael (74) from Kingwood, WV

For the “Blogmaster Andrew”
Thanks for the compliments, and in return, Thank all of you for being there and doing such a great job of taking care of Jessica and any little problems that she may encounter. You’re all one hell of a back-up crew.
I feel honored that she took us all on this venture with her, and for her to reply to our posts would surely drive her bonkers. Did you ever count them???? There’s got to be over 10,000.
Take care Andrew, and my best wishes to the whole crew.

Hi Jessica,

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

Safe sailing and Godspeed.

Hey Jess, I hope you're well.
I just watched your latest video and thought, there's that "cat that swallowed the canary" look again. You're looking very well and pleased with yourself surrounded by all that cheer.
The boat's motion seems nearly non-existant in the video so I hope you're able to make the most of the calm to immerse yourself in total enjoyment, as you so well deserve.
When you're an old woman in your 80's or 90's your short term momory may falter but your long term memory will remind you of this Christmas day, 2009 which your (then) younger generation will be most impressed by.
PassageWeather's synopsis looks promising for your onward progress to the horn. I hope one of your pressies was a gold earing. That will surely have to be another photo op. :-))
I have to work this evening but am so looking forward to the weekend off to watch the Sydney to Hobart on telly.
Take care, stay safe, warm, well hydrated and bye for now...Sam :-))

Jessica,

I'm somewhat at the tail end of the time zones, so I just got home on Christmas Eve in time to see your video before going to bed. Thanks so much, that made my Christmas Eve special. I know you expressed a little home sickness recently. On my way home tonight, I stopped on the island that I live on and looked out over the water with the stars shining bright, thought of you and felt a little reverse home sickness. I thought how much I miss being on the ocean and how lucky you are to be there. I know you miss your family and friends but you will see them sooner than you can imagine. Just appreciate what you're experiencing right now, because it will be a great memory for the rest of your life.

You looked so happy and festive in the video, it brought a smile to my face. Again, thanks for making this a special Christmas for all who are following your trip.

Have fun, stay safe and happy sailing.

Dear support team,
Each time I post a comment I think of all the people supporting Jessica, all the people who are giving up their time to scan the comments, the web master, the technical people, and of course her family. Thank you very much. We obviously all enjoy and appreciate being able to follow Jessica. It reminds me of the weight of Australia on Cathy Freeman's shoulders in 2000. We can "kill with kindness" when we don't mean to. We all do wish Jessica well and hope she achieves her goal for her own sake.

So thank you again for accommodating all of us.

Best wishes

Keep the blogs coming as it's become one of the first things I do when I get on the computer is check to see what your up to.

If you ever get to chicago I would love to buy you dinner and hear all your stories. It's kind of cool when you think about the fact that even with the billions of people on the planet, that you're the youngest person to do something. Not too many people can say that.

Happy Christmas to you all. Your description of Point Nemo did sound eerie. I'm trying to imagine myself on a boat literally in the middle of nowhere. Regretfully, I can't but to tell the truth, I'm not sure that I'd enjoy the experience. Picture from the top of the mast was totally cool!

Hi Jesse,

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, hope Santa got you what you wanted. You won't have time to feel homesick today, just keep playing some music, chill out and if you get the time read some of the blogs.

We were just discussing you after lunch and my family played a big trick on me. My son-in-law said "Jess has just made the "big turn" which made me run for the computer. Of course they all thought it was hilarious except me. I've since seen the funny side of it and realized how much you are part of our Christmas Day.

We all love you,

Dear Jessica,

Many, many times throughout the day, I reach out to give your hand a reassuring and encouraging squeeze. Hope you’re feeling it. I’m sure you have a whole world of millions, . . yes . . . millions, of people who are also thinking of you and sending their love across the miles to you. Think of our prayers and hugs, as being relayed through the closest satellite, so they reach you almost instantly.

At any moment of the day, or night, I have no doubt that you are being thought about, and being sent love and hugs, and urged on in your voyage. And through your log (or Blog) we are all enjoying your amazing accomplishments . . . vicariously! Thank you for that most wonderful gift . . . and for close to 6 more months . . . we get to “travel along with you” !

You’re having a life-changing adventure, and you will be in for great things because of the experiences you will have faced!
Although none of us will have the opportunity to live your same dream, you can be certain that we know, at least second-hand, what you are going through . . . and we love sharing it with you!!!!!

Keep providing us with updates of your wonderful adventure, and when you feel the sun or look up at the moon . . . know that there are others enjoying that same view and feeling closer to you!!!!

Feel the squeeze? I’m sending it to you now . . . and will continue to for the remainder of your awesome trip!!

Stay safely clipped, and keep that life vest on, and the extra phone handy.

Sent with much love and admiration for your courage, and with my best wishes for continued smooth sailing!

Carol in Florida, U.S.A.
