Hi Captain Jesse. This is a song from Mindy Smith.
She's a singer/song writer. Enjoy!

Santa Will Find You
[Country Christmas song by guest artist, Mindy Smith]
WRITE NOW — Make this fun kids' story even better by adding your own words.
"Santa Will Find You" Christmas song by Mindy Smith

If you're far away on this holiday eve
and you're dreaming of being at home.
If you're worried at all that you may be forgotten
you should know that you aren't alone.

'Cause you're there and you're shining
bright like a beacon, bright as a northern star.
So, don't worry because
Santa will find you wherever you are.
Santa will find you tonight.

If you're listening for reindeer and sleigh bells
as they jingle and tap on the roof.
You're awake, piled in blankets
with your cousin, Sacramone,
and you hope there'll be presents for you.

'Cause you're there and you're shining
bright like a beacon, bright as a northern star.
So, don't worry because
Santa will find you wherever you are.
Santa will find you tonight.

It's the time and the season to bring lovers together,
never let the distance keep you apart.
With the spirit of Christmas
you'll never be lost
if you truly believe in your heart.

When you're there and you're shining
bright like a beacon, bright as a northern star.
So, don't worry because
Santa will find you wherever you are.
Santa will find you tonight.

Don't worry because
Santa will find you wherever you are.
Santa will find you tonight.

Have fun singing with those you love,
– Josie

G'day Jessica,

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and despite being alone felt far from lonely. We had a great day, lunch with the family and a swim in the pool and an easy relaxing afternoon yarning and catching up.
Now it's Boxing Day so there is cricket to watch, the start of the Sydney Hobart yatch race and of course left overs and properly checking out the presents from yesterday, including some great books!
Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us, and thanks to the shore team for the updates when you have your hands full. It is a joy to read about your life on a little boat in a big ocean.

The boat decorations look wonderful. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas dinner and that Parker was able to keep EPL and course without too much attention from you. I was going to say keep rested and fed but you look as well as you did on the day you set sail!

I hope these messages bring you as much happiness as they do us.

Merry Christmas and
All the Best

Hi Jessica,
Wishing you a Merry Christmas on my Christmas Day. (Time Zone) Hope you enjoyed all your gifts, had a good munch and a great chat with the folks back home. Now it's just a matter of getting rid of all the wrapping paper, empty boxes and exchanging all the gifts that didn't fit or weren't suitable. LOL.......
Until next year. What did you get, huh, huh, won’t you tell us….. PLEASE?
I sent you a Christmas card with a chocolate bar enclosed, hope you enjoy it.
I'm glad you survived through it all. Now with all the festivities over it's back to work.
Looks like you should have a pretty smooth sail until you reach the Cape area. According to Passage Weather there's not much action until you get there, and that's not much for you to worry about. Judging by where you’re at, it looks like you're running right behind, and getting ready to skirt, some weather. So I think, and pray, that you may have a pretty smooth sail through the Cape area.
How’s Ella doing? Were you able to get any preventive maintenance done lately?

For Molly from Maryland:
That was a real nice tree that you sent Jessica. I saved that one. Thank you.

For Steve in California:
Thanks for the help on the pictures, it worked, but I’m not able to save them. I’m working on it. Thank you.

Hey Jessica, relax, I was just teasing you about the chocolate bar, just had to have a laugh. LOL………..
Stay alert, relaxed and be cool. You’re doing a fantastic job, so enjoy.
Always proud of you and always thinking of you.
May God be with you and watch over you and may the angels keep your sails full, and I will keep you in my prayers.
Michael (74) from Kingwood, WV

Hi Jessica,
This is my first blog although we have been following your progress from the start.
Thought you might appreciate a Queensland story.
Hugh Sawrey was a local bush artist, born at Buderim (!!) and one of the founders of the Bushman’s Hall of Fame. We used to collect his prints of Queensland bush scenes. One of these I pulled out of storage yesterday to put on the wall. It is ‘Rounding the Horn’, quite different from his usual bush scenes, and on the back is written, ‘dedicated to preserving the memory of the voyage of courageous sailor Sir Francis Chichester in rounding Cape Horn 1967’.
The story goes that Sawrey the bushman knew little about sailing but he crewed on a boat out from Mooloolaba in bad weather to gain an impression of what conditions were like. Nevertheless, his depiction of Gypsy Moth IV with just a single storm jib rounding Cape Horn in heavy seas was considered to be just a bit of artistic licence.
When the great man returned from his solo voyage, he confirmed that he had, in fact, set a single storm jib and the picture was fairly accurate.
Of course, we had to wait for Chichester’s book to get all the facts which makes your voyage all the more interesting in these days of high tech. communication.
Thanks for the blogs, pics and videos.
Stay safe.
Tony, Brisbane.

Hi Jesse,

My family and I have been away camping at Teewah Beach for a few days and just gotten back.
It was great to see your Christmas video that brought tears to my eyes. You are an amazing young lady and I'm proud you're Australian.
We toasted you on Christmas day and while we were away we looked out to sea wondering how you were going and thinking about what you might be doing. It has been an adventurous week with scaling the mast, lots of birds for company and opening your presents and enjoying Christmas lunch.
I'll be back daily now that we are home and waiting with great interest for your posts.
A big thank you to Andrew for organising your Christmas video so quickly so that we could see you in EPL and be part of your Christmas day.
Your support team do a wonderful job. All of the world loves you.

And now, what to do with all this rubbish?

There is an area in the North Pacific ocean known as the North Pacific Gyre or the Great Pacific Garbage Patch - an area about the size of Texas full of plastic rubbish to a depth of about six metres (18 feet). Because of four competing ocean currents which operate in a clockwise direction, the garbage thrown off ships and blown off land has accumulated in a becalmed area in the centre, posing risks to birds and marine life. The area is "choked" with plastic items, which can be sponges for toxins, varying in size from a kayak to the tiniest wisps of plastic. To the eye as you look across it, it undulates like regular ocean, but when you look down into it, it's just plastic everywhere. It's ocean, but it's kind of like soupy ocean.

So please everyone, for the future of our planet and our future generations let us all think before we throw.

Reduce + Reuse + Recylce = Relax and Rejuvinate!

Hi Jessica,
Well I figure by now everything is settling in, and you're getting back into the swing of things. But then again, how could you have left it. You're a 24/7 sailor, that's all there is to it. No mercy, no mate and only little cat naps. But you are a very tenacious person and nothing is going to stand in your way. I can only say, that after all this time at sea alone, you popped up with that video, and gave us all a beautiful smile and a lovely message. What more can a fan ask for????????
Yes Jessica, you are definitely amazing and unique, don’t ever change.

Take good care of yourself and keep on smiling, and don’t forget to drink plenty of water. Samurai said so.
Always proud of you and always thinking of you. Loads of love and hugs.
May God be with you and watch over you and may the angels keep your sails full, and I will keep you in my prayers.

Please continue to keep up your strength. You are doing SO WELL. The Horn is getting closer and closer. TREMENDOUS!!!

Hi Jesse

I love reading your blog and you have a knack of expressing what's happening with daily events to take us onboard with you. I find it easy to imagine the smell and taste of salt air/water and occasional feel of it with a rogue wave.

I noted that you forgot to pack a seabird book for identifying visitors so I tracked down a couple of links you can cut and paste to your browser that have photos, name, scientific name and some information about each bird.

I've put several links because each has varied information and interesting stuff like the fish and creatures of the deep. or you can go to the homepage of each link for a look around.

I hope it helps give you a new interest or does the unthinkable and spoils your routine.

I also have something silly that might make you have a laugh.

You know the saying the "post must always get through-rain, hail or shine".

I'm thinking the Postie on his Moped must be pulling his hair out trying to deliver your internet connection account each Month. you can just imagine the little red motorbike chasing Ella's Pink Lady all over the ocean.

(I bet your already thinking about that post bike out there)

But Santa had one on him though because the Sleigh's airborne and just has to come in for a low pass.

Great to read the spirits are good, Parkers still good company and being a faithful crewman and you are filling your days well.

How's the fishing gowing. I had fish lastnight and you came to mind while I ate.

It's real good to see the World is watching a Queenslander out there doing one of the toughest challenges. you make us all very proud.

Cheers
Barry Clements

ps. keep watch for something red coming over the horizon (It'll be the mail coming)

Another Jessica poem

Neptune’s Child

The world is such a nasty place
It gathers so much hate
We take the most from daily race
Each wants, for just our plate

But should we look a tad bit more
Beyond what serves alone
We’d see the splendour, what’s in store
We’d see, the world’s not stone

So what would bring the globe together
What would give us common cause
That could be that something better
Way beyond just loud applause

Many say, Christ’s birth was such
Yet this was long ago
This year and next, we have been touched
Yes it’s Jessica on the go

She may be just a slip of lass
With success not yet assured
Her sailing as each day doth pass
A love for her’s occurred

I see the comments, love abounds
Our words encourage strength
The fear of those the trip astounds
Such magnitude of length

But most of all I see the change
She’s brought all to a pause
Jess has such global range
She is, that common cause
