''Tomorrow I'm going to get up and sail around the world!"

I'll keep this update even shorter but just letting you all know, if you havent already heard, that tomorrow is finally the big day. I'll be leaving the marina at around 0845 in the morning and clearing the Sydney heads soon after. The forecast is looking pretty positive and I'm just itching to get out there. I've had a nice final day fiddling round on Ellas Pink Lady and doing a little last minute packing with family and friends. Its hard to believe that the big day is almost here!!

Jessica,
The media makes it look like you seem obsessed with answering your critics. Forget them, this challenge is about you not them.
Any decision you make is about your progress to achieve your goal, not to prove anything to your critics.
I'm sure when you leave our shores the burden of satisfying critics will disappear, just as it did for those that went before you.

Your delays in waiting for the best window is an indication you are already showing survival skills, though the delays frustrate many of your supporters.

Dear Jess,
it sounds like you had a great day today being farewelled by family and friends. About time Sydney turned on a decent day's weather. Lately it has been reminding me too much of Wellington NZ where I was born. Can't wait to move to Cairns FNQ!

I plan to be at Clontarf Reserve jumping up and down and waving madly when you set sail tomorrow morning, and if I can get there in time, North Head also for that one last glimpse and a photo of Ella's Pink Lady.

If you achieve this record, some of us will know that the biggest obstacles you overcame were thrown at you by people and culure, not Nature. The months ahead may be lonely and cruel, but you will finally be truly free, as only women who walk out of the common ways know freedom.

IF.....

by Rudyard Kipling

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

The best of luck, and keep safe!

Hi Jessica
never heard of you before till a short while ago and maybe you will not hear of this comment from :but first of all it is very brave of your parents of letting go on this brave adv. and i hate to be in their shoes regarding your safety.
But, selfishly and sadly not be seeing you on your voyage(since I'm in San Francisco, California) which understably will not fall in your route. But, for your safety, bravery and whatever that dosen't come to mind now.............god bless and may the angel's be there for when in need.............and like your parents...........may the person above be with you till your HOME SAFE.
